PY // Art From Parkland’s Youth

2015 Juried Exhibition

PY // Art From Parkland’s Youth is a community project to work with teenagers in the Parkland and South Sound region of Washington State. We focus on teaching, supporting, and appreciating the arts so that we may make a Beautiful Parkland. Current programming includes an annual juried exhibition for artists aged 11-18 hosted by Pacific Lutheran University and an annual month-long summer camp taught by local artists.

Call for Entries:

The 2015 Juried Exhibition will take place in January 2015. Young artists aged 11-18 are encouraged to submit their artwork by January 5, 2015. All art forms are encouraged, and all pieces will be considered. Each accepted artist receives a participation certificate, and prizes are awarded to artwork showing exemplary artistic merit. Questions may be directed to Sarah Wise at wise.sarahe@gmail.com or 253-229-7393. Stay tuned for additional information about the 2015 exhibition.

The top award winner will receive a $500 Artistic Achievement Award at Pacific Lutheran University. To be eligible to receive the award, the winning student must apply and be accepted to the university and declare their major in the Department of Art & Design. Artwork Due January 5

Students submitting artwork should have each individual piece mounted on Bristol Board or Foam Core for gallery display. There is no limit the amount or type of artwork students may submit. While we try to accept artwork from every artist, we cannot guarantee that every piece will be accepted.

Artwork may be submitted in Ingram Hall on the PLU campus, located at the corner of 121st and Wheeler Streets in Parkland. We will be conducting a workshop from 4-6 pm by the University Gallery where students may mount and submit their artwork for the exhibition. Artwork must be received by 6 pm in order to be considered and included in the exhibition.
